Embracing Uniqueness
By being what only I can be, I give humanity what only I can give. It is my uniqueness that allows me to contribute something unique to the universal heritage of humankind.
— Jonathon Sacks
To embrace our uniqueness is to step beyond the confines of the standardized stories that have been written for us—stories shaped by an anti-life, colonial, techno-industrial world. To meet soul, we must wander through both inner and outer realms, venturing into places where civilization’s illusory control and comfort falls away. Each of us arrives with specific gifts—gifts that yearn to be brought to life, not just for our own fulfillment, but for the broader Web of Life.
The path of the heart calls us to a radical reorientation, one that leads us beyond the pale of accepted norms. It’s a journey that may feel dangerous, filled with uncertainty, but once we sense the call of our soul, we can no longer ignore it. It’s the path where we become who we are meant to be—not just for ourselves, but for all of Life.
And though this path may be fraught with difficulty, we don’t have to walk it alone. The right kind of support, the compassionate presence of others, can make all the difference. We don’t have to carry the weight of Becoming alone.
As the year turns, I offer this invitation: Let’s nurture a more regenerative future, one where each person’s unique offering is woven into the fabric of life. In honour of this, I’m offering all of my counselling services—individual, couples, death and dying, and group counsel—at 30% off throughout January.
